The Amused Platform

A white label wagering platform, initially catering to 2 independent brands. A customisable front-end and a custom CMS. For App (Android & iOS) and Responsive Web.

End-to-end design

Our first responsibility was competitor research and customer identification. With an established Product & Engineering team, I built our Product Design team of UX/UI Designers & Animators and User Researchers. We set to work on developing the site map (structure) and initial wireframes. Using Figma we created a tokenised multi-brand design system giving us the flexibility for future expansion. We connected multiple asset, component and pattern libraries, loosely based on the Atomic Method, and fed it all into a hi-fidelity design doc. We maintain and update the platform via manual branching.

Results

The Product launched in 2021, we are continually learning and improving. As it stands 6 (with another 4 on the way) brands have gone live and the CMS, aptly named Stable, is also live and we modify as the product grows. We developed a pathway to succeed both quickly and under budget. This has been by far the biggest and most rewarding project I have undertaken. I am extremely proud of it and those who brought it to life.

Full Time / April 2021 — Current
Amused operate within the wagering & iGaming sector both in Australia and abroad. I joined the companies tech-arm (Black Stream) who specialise in end-to-end product creation in the SaaS space.

My role was (and is) to build out the design function within that wider tech team. Responsible for personal hiring, design team structures, product structures, processes and methodologies. Post the initial effort to establish a design team (comprised of researchers, animators/prototypers, UX, UI & design managers), we have been able to settle into a consistency that has allowed us to be efficient whilst maintaining quality.
