Working directly with the AFLs official media rights partner Telstra, we were tasked with a full redesign and rework of the desktop experience allowing the fans to play the game the way they wish to play it. Application of the new AFL visual identity. Surprise and delight fans with user centred design.

Fully FEATURED DESKTOP & A COMPANION App PLUS MoBILE EXPERIENCE

We know that 9 out of 10 fans pick their starting team on a desktop prior to the start of the season. However once the season begins, being able to check live scores from the their phone be it at the pub, or the tram, or an Uber is critical to a fans active participation in the game.

A PERSONALISED ONBOARDING EXPERIENCE

Fans love playing AFL Fantasy because of the social competitiveness it creates. We streamlined the league participation experience by restructuring the onboarding, premium subscription head to head matchups & results management.

 

ANIMATED UI IDENTITY APPLICATION

Armed with a new visual identity requirement briefed in by the AFL, and the desire to simplify weekly gameplay, we turned to the fans to understand their needs. We identified which statistical points were critical to a users weekly team management choices, and enabled an animated player card system to visualise this data.
